Thank you for your kind words about our veterans last week.

And today is a special day, too.

I’m proud to introduce you to Jason Vislosky – our new principal at List Elementary.

Although it will be a few days yet before Jason’s official first day, he’s already been onsite meeting staff, moving in a few things, getting a sense of our student pick-up and drop-off procedures, and learning his way around List and our campus.

As a school leader who invests the time to reflect, cares about what systems and supports students and staff need, and prioritizes execution and getting things done as team, Jason will join other members on our district admin team who also value and embody these important traits.

I also think you’ll discover Jason’s kind, sincere, and quiet manner enhance his ability to encourage and impact student and staff success – and I really like this attribute, too!

I have no doubt you enjoy getting to know Jason and his family.

3 FUN FACTS about Jason

  • If you could choose any superpower, what would it be? Jason would choose the ability to fly! He had vivid dreams of flying when he was a kid – dreams he still remembers to this day.
  • If you just got a camper two years ago to go off exploring with your family, where would you go? Jason and his family have zeroed on our great state and love everything Michigan has to offer, especially the U.P. A favorite spot is Tahquamenon Falls.
  • Who was one of your most memorable teachers? For Jason, his most memorable teacher was his first-grade teacher. She kept in touch with him through high school and was the kind of teacher who could make a positive impact on someone even in a short amount of time.
