Welcome to E.F. Rittmueller Middle School!

At E.F. Rittmueller Middle School, we strive not only to stimulate academic growth but also to focus on the unique development of the young adolescent as they experience many social, emotional, and physical changes throughout the middle school years. We offer a challenging curriculum as teachers implement creative instructional practices, including hands-on, technology-based, and cooperative learning strategies.  
 
At EFR, we understand the importance of educating the whole child. We seek to build self-confidence in our students through exploratory courses such as drama, communications, physical education, band, and art classes. We also offer a wide variety of extra-curricular and sports teams, giving our middle-level Eagles additional opportunities to thrive.

E.F. Rittmueller Middle School is one of fourteen middle schools in Michigan designated as a Michigan School to Watch (STW). STW is a recognition program for middle-level schools developed by the National Forum to Accelerate Middle-Grades Reform. The designation is based on four categories: Academic Excellence, Developmental Responsiveness, Social Equity, and Organizational Structures.

We are proud of our middle-level Eagles, staff, and parent support which results in EFR being alive with energy, enthusiasm, and a high standard of excellence.
