A Message from Superintendent Hegenauer
I’m looking forward to the 2021-2022 school year.
Obviously, I have much to learn about our district’s purpose, people, programs, and practices. So I intend to do just that over the next 60 days by listening and learning from as many folks as I can, both inside and outside of FSD. And as of right now, I’m very impressed.
It’s exciting to discover in every corner of the community the unbelievable commitment and support people have for our students and schools. The Frankenmuth community is strongly vested, attentive to detail, and wants us to prepare our students well for the challenges of the future. This pleases me.
I’m also finding FSD staff is EXCEPTIONAL – and they are “all-in” to meeting the individual learning needs of every student. This pleases me, too!
I haven’t been here a long time, but I’ve seen the district slogan of “Where Effort Opens Opportunity” in action. At band camp, various team practices, games, open houses, and other events, I’ve seen students, parents and staff happy to see each other again back on our campus.
I’ve seen classroom teachers, principals, office secretaries, custodians, the tech team, food service and transportation staff all working their way down their long “to do” list to get this new school year ready. I also get a big boost when I see the eager anticipation in the eyes of our new parents and students, who can hardly wait to join the ranks of the Eagles this fall.
So… so far – ALL GOOD!
I’m grateful for all of the kind words and encouragement I’ve received as I begin my new responsibilities. We’ll keep FSD’s expectations and standards high as we work together to keep our district on top. I’m also looking forward to getting to know YOU and every FSD family and community member better.
In brief, I believe in family, serving others, and lifelong learning.
Here I am with my wife Jaimi, daughter Jillian (18), and son Aiden (16).
I totally concur with the district slogan “Where Effort Opens Opportunity” and one of the ways I hope to support it is by living up to the favorite quote of mine by Basketball Coach John Calipari of the University of Kentucky.
In my estimation, Effort + Working Together = Expanded Opportunity! And this is the spirit I’d like to carry forward into the new school year.
I hope you agree!
